William Stokes

William Perry Stokes (Bill), age 92, passed away in Heber, UT on Saturday May 7th, 2022.

He was born on July 25th, 1929 in New York City, New York to Edwin Stokes and Mary (Carney) Stokes.

William was married to Rita Eva Bevilaqua on December 19, 1950. They had four children,  Steven Edwin, Cathy Marie, Richard Deloy, and Wlliam Perry III.

He served in the Navy for 6 years. He worked many years for Standard Oil. Bill was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years Rita Eva Stokes, children Steven Stokes, Cathy Fitzhugh (Dave), Richard Stokes, William Stokes (Linda), siblings Tom Stokes, Richard Stokes, and Pat Lewis. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Mary Stokes,  siblings Anna (Chick), Louise Bisel, and Jack Stokes.

A viewing will be held on Friday May 13, 2022 from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral at the Kamas LDS Ward Chapel, 100 West Center St., Kamas.  Funeral service will be held Saturday,  May 14,  2022 at 11:00 a.m.

Graveside services will follow  at the Woodland Cemetery.
