Verna Davis

September 2, 1930 — May 16, 2022

Fort Bridger, WY

Verna Louise Bradshaw Davis passed away on May 16th at her home in Mt. View at the age of

91 following a long illness.

In her final days and weeks she was lifted up by the love and support of her family and friends. It provided her with an opportunity to share words of encouragement and advice to her grandchildren. She appreciated the special efforts that were made to spend time with her and enjoyed the sharing of poems, stories and memories.

Louise was raised in a loving family in Lyman by her parents Clinton and Verna Bradshaw. She

was athletic, feisty and unafraid. There was no challenge too big or too small for her. She loved

music and reading.

She married Kenneth Wesley Davis December 21, 1947 and they had over 50 years together.

Those years were spent in Mt. View where they raised their family.

They had eight children: Casey (Sandra) Davis of Evanston, Shelley Davis of Evanston, Wendy

(Rick) Schuler of Evanston, Robin (Tammy) Davis of Prescott Valley, Arizona, Nikki (Mark)

Walker of Mt. View, Tami (Robert) Grasmick of Jackson, Scott Davis of Kemmerer, and Sallee

(Neal) Walker of Hurricane, Utah.

Louise worked many jobs over the years but her job at Union Telephone Co. was one of her

favorites. This was in the early days of Union where she worked with Howard Woody,

Raymond Tanner, Zelda Green and more. One of her most fulfilling jobs was to get to work with

special needs children in the school district. She was compassionate and loving to the students

she worked with and she was willing to do whatever jobs that come her way for the school.

One of her loves was writing poetry. At this date she has done 22 books of poetry. She has

won many awards including being included in poetry compilations that are found in the Library

of Congress. Her latest accomplishment was to be honored for all of the many poems that she

has written for the WREN magazine. She received a beautiful floral arrangement as a token of

appreciation that she had to tell everyone about. She was also an artist and photographer. She

enjoyed sharing her talents with family and friends.

Louise was named Citizen of the Year for the town of Mt. View. She was very proud of the town

of Mt. View. She was instrumental in the planning and developing of the original town park with

other community members. Her favorites were the Christmas lights in the park and then in the

summer, the floral displays.

Louise is preceded in death by her husband Wes Davis and her parents and siblings.

The family would like to thank the staff at Cowboy Cares for their help and support as well as

Uinta Home Health. A special thank you to Mary Reinholz of Cowboy Cares and also to Maddie

Johnson of Uinta Home Health who went above and beyond their nursing duties to show love

and compassion to our mother.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, May 21, 2022 at the Mountain View LDS Chapel with a viewing from 11:30-12:45. Burial will follow in the Fort Bridger Cemetery.
