Obituary

Ted Adkins, 82, of Mountain View, Wyoming passed away on December 1st, 2021, at the Evanston Regional Hospital after a brief Illness.

Theodore Thomas (Ted) Adkins was born on May 14th, 1939, in Coalgate, Oklahoma to John Lee Adkins and Ruby (Woodell) Adkins.  Ted was the youngest of their six children. 

Ted graduated from Paoli High School, Paoli Oklahoma and then later joined and was proud to serve in the United States Airforce from 1959 to 1965. 

Ted married Jerri Jacobsen in Evanston, WY on December 21st, 1974.  They made their home in Evanston while Ted worked and drove truck for various businesses.  They moved to Mountain View in 1980.  Ted was employed by Church & Dwight Company in Industrial Maintenance and retired after 23 years of employment.  Ted then started his own welding and fabrication business, Adkins Service.  He could design and building anything!

Ted enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, boating and everything to do outdoors with his family and friends.  Ted loved to paint, play the guitar and sing.  He also loved to spin yarns and tall tales over a cold beer!

Ted is a member of the Fort Bridger American Legion Post 36 for 37 continuous years.  He served as Department of Wyoming Commander in 2000-2001 and other offices, committees, and chairmanships at the Post, District, State, and National levels.  He was also a former member of the Mountain View Fire Department.

Ted is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Richard, Lin (Jan) Adkins; sisters Helen (Junior) Byrd, and Irene Adkins; sister-in-law Elzada Adkins; one son, Todd Adkins as well as many aunts, uncles, and extended family. 

He is survived by his wife Jerri; brother Dugan; daughter Kim (Kyle) Gray; sons from a previous marriage Tom Keen and Ted Adkins; grandsons Zachary Gray, JT Gray, Seth (Aubrey) Gray; granddaughters Miranda Keen, Laken Dobell, and Haley Mahan; great granddaughters Adeline Joy Gray and Leila Jane Gray and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 6th, 2021, at 11:00 am at Fort Bridger (WY) American Legion Post 36 followed by a luncheon.
