Sara Wright

July 24, 1947 — May 8, 2020

Coalville, Utah

Sara Marie Wright, age 72, passed away in her Coalville home suddenly May 8, 2020.  She was born July 24, 1947 in Coalville, Utah to Lloyd Elwin (Tim) and Lydia Butler Carpenter.

She married Dennis Keith Wright August 14,1968, later solemnized in the Ogden Utah Temple.

Denny called her Luvy. Her siblings called her Sally. Her nieces and nephews endearingly called her Aunt Sal as well as many others whose lives she touched.

Sara looked for opportunities to help others and found great joy in giving anonymously.

She was a vibrant and active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.   She served in the Ogden Utah Temple and other callings in her ward.  Her favorite was serving as a Young Women Leader. She also served a mission with Denny in Salt Lake City.

Sara enjoyed golf, reading, rollercoasters, Halloween and hosting parties. She knew how to pack a picnic and during round-up the cowboys looked forward to her dinners.

She and Denny have enjoyed wintering in Mesquite, Nevada for the past several years.  They have opened their home to many family and friends and are always gracious hosts.

Sara is survived by her husband Dennis K Wright. Her brothers Dale (Janice) Carpenter, John (Darlene) Carpenter and sister Kathy (Deil) Gordon, sister-in laws Clydia Carpenter, Carma (Paul) Donaldson and brother-in-law David (Rona) Wright and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, her mother-in –law Blanche Turnbow Wright, father-in law Keith Wright and brother Harris Carpenter.

Wednesday,  May 13, 2020 at 12:00 pm, a funeral procession will travel from the Coalville Stake Center on Main Street, turn east on Chalk Creek Road and proceed to the Coalville Cemetery.  Due to current circumstances, well wishers can pay their respects from the side of the road by waving hands and hankies.  A private grave side service will be held at the cemetery for immediate family only.  But will be streamed on FaceBook Live under “Sara Wright Memorial” for those who would like to attend.

In lieu of flowers please donate to Primary Children’s Hospital.
