She graduated from Carbon County High School in 1956. She attended College in Price UT, and studied secretarial business. In addition to her many interests and hobbies, Mary was an excellent cook. She loved spreading her knowledge and skills through teaching. She taught the relief society ladies how to make a sourdough starter for bread, pancakes, etc. She was an exceptional waitress at Little America.  She also spent many years working as a book-keeper at Pamida.  Her friendliness and dedication to her work made her an invaluable asset to her employers.
