Lynne (Haws) Buckner

Janet Lynne Haws Buckner passed away on April 16, 2023, at her home in Lyman, WY.   Lynne was born in Provo, UT on April 19, 1937, to Norma Elizabeth Christopherson and Mark Shirley Haws.  On July 1, 1957, she married Jesse Roy Buckner.  Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on November 1, 1968. 

Lynne and Jesse have seven children – three sons: Mike (Sonya) Buckner and Ben (Crystal) Buckner of Lyman, WY, and Lane (Michelle) Buckner of Hurricane, UT; and four daughters: Libby (Clark) Anderson of Lonetree, WY, Janet (Randy) Barker of Evanston, WY, Courtney (Nathan) Walker of Lyman, WY, and Shannon (Jim) Hamblin (deceased).  Lynne and Jesse have 33 grandchildren, and 38 great grandchildren.

Lynne was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  She served in many capacities, including a mission to the Philippines with Jesse from 1998 to 2000.  

Lynne enjoyed singing, writing, sketching, traveling, and attending any of her kid’s and grandkid’s activities. 

She has one brother, Mark Andrew Haws, of Spring City, UT, and was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jesse, her daughter Shannon, her sister Marcia Haws Wright, and great grandson Brooks Owen Cropper.

Funeral services will be Friday, April 21, 2023, 11:00 am in the Lyman LDS Church.  Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 pm and again Friday morning 9:30 till 10:45 am prior to services.  Interment will follow in Millburne Cemetery.
