Jeannie (Lester) Lange

Carol Jean (Jeannie) Lester Lange 73, passed away surrounded by her dear family January 27, 2022 in Evanston, Wyoming.

Jeannie was born in Evanston, Wyoming December 15, 1948, to William Henry Lester and Ida Vina Cook Lester.  Later they moved to Bluffdale, Utah where she attended school in Riverton and Bingham. In the summers she lived with her family in the pole patch in the High Uinta’s. She was Miss Bluffdale in 1964.

She married the love of her life (Ivan) Keith Lange December 27, 1969. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple November 26, 1986. They lived in Riverton, Wyoming where they raised their children.  They moved to Evanston in 2007. Jeannie was by Keith’s side for 52 years. 

Many different jobs were held by Jeannie. She enjoyed working as a waitress, cosmetologist and Instructor of Wyoming Beauty College, bus driver, senior bus driver, Linton’s Big R farm and ranch store, and team truck driver with Keith from coast to coast. She enjoyed gardening, raising animals, and serving and loving everyone she knew. Her most joyous jobs were her church callings. Time spent serving at Rock Creek honoring the pioneers was her most cherished service.

The greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her husband Keith, son Jody (Debbie) Lange, daughter Brenda (Dennis) Crump. 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, brother Wayne Lester, sisters Ida Marie Hatch, Linda Christenson, and Connie Wonnacott.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother William S. Lester.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022, at 11:00 am at the Hillard Ward LDS church 14864 Highway 150 South Evanston.  Visitation will be from 9:00-10:45 am. Interment will follow in the Evanston Cemetery.
