Jean Staniforth

Jean Staniforth-December 2022

Born in Coalville, UT at Dr. French’s home on the creek and the first day of a ten day cloudburst to Emerson C. and Elna Gerrard.

She lived in Echo, Castle Rock and Devil Slide, Utah before moving to Evanston, Wyoming where she attended schools.

She married Joseph D. Staniforth on September 9, 1956, and had three children, Christine, Ward (Ellen) and Tracy (Don) and they lived in Evanston.

Was fortunate to work for Strand Theater while finishing school, then for AT&T, Mountain Bell, State of Wyoming, and Evanston School District in telecommunications.

She enjoyed working and having the opportunity to meet people in all walks of life. Also enjoyed reading (fact or fiction), traveling with family, attending class reunions, telephone get-togethers and a fascination with hummingbirds and people thinking of her when they found hummingbird mementos to share with her were great pleasures too.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

She is survived by her sister, Gary (Tom) L. Sims; brother, Curtis J. (Candyce) Gerrard; nieces, Theresa (Sue) and Stacey Sims, Jolyn and Amanda Gerrard and nephew, Steve Sims.

May you all enjoy your life’s journey as much as I have enjoyed mine.
