Janice Rollins

June 17, 1933 — May 7, 2023

Lyman

Janice Parke Rollins was called home to her Heavenly Father on Sunday morning May 7th at almost 90 years of age.

She was born June 17th, 1933, in Carey, Idaho; the youngest of seven children born to Mellie Sophia Sparks and Harvey Lytle Parke. After growing up and graduating from Carey High School, she married B. Brian Tilby on September 10, 1952, in the Logan LDS Temple. Brian and Janice had one stillborn child and four living children whom she dearly loved. During their marriage they lived in Wilmington Delaware, Pensacola and Miami Beach Florida, and then settled in Salt Lake City for a time for Brian to attend Medical School.

After graduation it was back to traveling and finally putting down roots in Gridley California, which is in the northern part of the state. Janice loved California weather, motherhood, cooking, and serving in the church. Their marriage ended in 1971.

In 1982 Janice had moved back to Salt Lake City. In April 1983, she met Gary Rollins on the dance floor at an LDS Singles social, and they quickly fell in love. They married on June 29th, 1983.

Janice was so happy to have seven new children, including three still at home to raise. Lyman’s weather wasn’t California’s, but she enjoyed going to the wrestling matches and school activities with her new family. She loved to go on picnics with Gary when he was checking on the cows and, in the winter, going out to pick out a Christmas tree. They loved to do things with and for each other. Gary and Janice would have been married 40 years next month.

Janice is survived by her husband Gary, her two sons, Lynn (Kami) Tilby-Gilbert AZ, Ronald Tilby-SLC, UT, two daughters, Janeal (Bart) Jacobs-Orem UT, Debra (Kane) Francetich-Moscow, ID; Her step-children, Russ (Andy) Rollins-Lyman, Tami (Joe) Williams-Peoa, UT, Ila (David) Leonhardt-Gilbert, AZ; Debra (Mark)Perkins-Riverton, WY; Wiloni (Russell) Darrington-Rockwall, TX; Todd (Candice) Rollins-Lyman. And numerous Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her 6 siblings, and one step-son, Greg Rollins.
