Dean Bowen

Evanston

Dean K Bowen, 65 years old, departed this life on Friday December 27th in his home surrounded by loved ones. He was afflicted by aggressive brain cancer. Upon receiving the diagnosis on December, 13, his desire was to go home to spend Christmas with his family. Dean lived a rich life filled with humble service and selflessness. He lived and died an honorable man.

Dean was born on July 6, 1954, in Hamilton, Montana. He graduated from Stevensville (Montana) High School in 1973 and faithfully served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Fresno, California. He attended and graduated from Utah Technical College in Provo at the top of his class. During his time in Provo he met the love of his life, Carolee Blackham. They married on June 5, 1981 in the Salt Lake City Temple and thereafter settled in Green River, Wyoming and later Evanston. They were blessed with three children.

Dean worked his entire career for Dominion Energy (previously known as Mountain Fuel and Questar). He retired on September 1, 2019.

Dean was a lifelong faithful member of his church. For the last seven years he served on the High Council of the Evanston South Stake.

Dean’s favorite hobbies included cross country skiing, hiking, backpacking, blues music, live concerts, and most importantly—spending time with family and extended family.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Max Bowen and Vonnie Furniss Bowen, and his baby brother Val Bowen. He is survived by his wife, Carolee Bowen, his children Michele Hustedt (sp. John), Devin Bowen (sp. Stephanie), Ethan Bowen (sp. Alisha), grandchildren Anna, Anakin, and Charlie, and siblings Nolan Bowen, Brent Bowen, Clea Comte, and Beverly Rushton.
