Connie Gines

March 26, 1934 — October 9, 2020

Morgan

Connie Joan Murdock Gines of Morgan, Utah passed away peacefully on October 9, 2020 surrounded by loved ones.  Connie was born in Heber City, Utah on March 26, 1934 to Joseph Royal Murdock and Josephine Ronda Sexton.  She was the third of seven children. Connie married Lee Gines on May 17, 1955.  Their marriage was solemnized in the Ogden Temple on February 25, 1983. Connie was the proud mother of 4 girls, Joni (Bevan) Whitear, Sandi (Russell) Stebar, Leann (Jack) Morton, and Joyce (Mike) Taylor. She had 15 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

Connie loved spending time in the great outdoors with Lee, who she endearingly called Mr. G, her children and grandchildren.  Whether it was hiking, hunting, fishing, gardening, Jeep rides, shooting guns or just sitting in the sun, she was always ready for an adventure.  Connie was always happy and positive.  She was always kind and loved to serve others.

Connie loved to travel, experience and see new things.  Lee and Connie have been on several cruises, visited Hawaii many times, and traveled throughout the world. They became the perfect "snowbirds,” staying in Utah to snowmobile until the January cold, then jumping in the truck and trailer with bikes loaded on back, to head for the Arizona sun and rock shows, with Bob and Arvey Cox.

After Mr. G passed away Connie took every opportunity to go and travel the world with her girls. The legendary “Girls Trip” could be as close as St. George or as far away as Norway and Ireland.  She took every opportunity to make memories and spend time with her family.

Connie loved road trips and being with her grandkids.  She would drive 14 hours to Washington to watch a football game, or to see a new grand baby.  She was always supportive of her grandkids in every aspect and was their biggest fan.  Her grandkids loved and enjoyed every minute they got to spend with Granny.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life Lee Gines and her oldest daughter Joni Whitear, as well as her siblings Maurice, Luwanna, and Jane.  She is survived by her brothers JR, Brent and Val.

A very special thank you to the angels that provided Connie’s care, Stella, Monica and Debbie.
