Carolyn Andersen

November 9, 1936 — September 21, 2020

South Ogden

On Monday, September 21 after a long 21 year separation, mom was reunited with dad and Robert.  We know there were many others there to greet her.   What a glorious reunion we know it was.

Carolyn was born in Heber City, Utah to Howard and Florence Rockhill on November 9, 1936.  She was the oldest of four children, which included two brothers, Kendall and Byron and her sister, Linda.  She had many wonderful memories of her childhood life on the farm.   She graduated from South Summit High School in 1955 and continued to enjoy yearly high school reunions with her classmates.   She then attended Utah State University and Brigham Young University becoming an avid fan of BYU.  Watching BYU football and basketball games one of her favorite things to do.

On April 24 1959, Carolyn married her sweetheart Paul Maxwell Andersen in the Salt Lake Temple.  Paul and Carolyn enjoyed 40 amazing years together.  They enjoyed their family on camping trips, family get-togethers and just spending as much time together as possible.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus of Latter Day Saints and was very grateful for the opportunity serving in Ward and Stake Offices.  Visiting teaching was her favorite calling which she completed faithfully each month for many years.

She worked for the IRS for six years before moving to Hill Air Force Base where she spent the remainder of her work career.  She met many wonderful people she called friends.   Her greatest work experiences were the hours she spent volunteering.  She spent several years as a church service missionary at the Relief Society Building in Salt Lake City.  She then began volunteering at Ogden Regional Medical Center for many years.  She thoroughly loved those she worked with and helping those in the hospital.  Her favorite task was serving an elegant meal for new parents.

She is survived by her daughter Shauna (Jake) Jeppson of Durham, ME,  and son, Bruce Andersen of South Ogden, UT, and son, Jon (Nancy) Andersen of Marriott/Slaterville, UT; brother Kendall Rockhill of Marion, UT, and brother Byron (Joann) Rockhill of Marion, UT; one brother-in-law, Lee Thomas of Mountain View, WY; one sister-in-law, Marge (Art) Andersen of Wellsville, UT

She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul; her infant son, Robert; her parents Howard and Florence and her sister, Linda.
