Carelyn Watkins

December 19, 1953 — August 13, 2020

Mountain View

On August 13, 2020 God called home one of his most beautiful souls. It is with a very heavy heart that we feebly attempt to condense a lifetime of love, laughter, tears, joy, giving and grace into a few lines.

Cari-Lou Watkins was born December 19, 1953 in Park City, Utah to Leslie and Annie Offret.  She grew up in Park City, Utah and was the wild and free-spirited hippy sister to Les, Barbara and Mark.  She met the love of her life, Floyd, at a dance hall in Midway, but it was not until she ordered him a drink 6 years later that the rest became history.  They were married on July 16, 1976 and moved to Mountain View, Wyoming where she fell in love with this small-town community.  This is where they made their life for 44 years and raised their two beautiful children, Dani and Louis.  The light of her life was her 3 grandsons Luka, Demitri and Matija; every summer her "boys" would come up to Wyoming and spend 2 weeks with "Buba & Buka".  She looked forward to spending this special time with them each year.  Her greatest joy in life was her family.  She had countless friends and family members she loved and adored.  She truly loved everyone; if she called you "friend" know to her that you were family.

She faithfully loved and served God her whole life in a million different ways.  She was a life-long member of the Catholic Church.  She loved her parish family at St. Helen's in Fort Bridger.  One of her extracurricular activities was hooking, aka crocheting hot pads for the annual smorgasbord at the parish.  She had many jobs during her life, but her favorite was working as the Librarian at Mountain View High School.  She loved being around the kids, you could often find them hanging out in the library, asking her advice, laughing over a cup of coffee and sharing stories. She had an amazing sense of humor and an infectious laugh.

To honor her life there will be services held at St. Helen's Catholic Church in Fort Bridger Wyoming on Wednesday, August 19, 2020.  Viewing will begin at 10:00 am, then a Rosary followed by a Holy Mass at 11:00 am.

She will be laid to rest in the Park City Cemetery at a later date.  Anyone who knew her would expect coffee, food and visiting afterward, however due to the crap-shoot of 2020 we will instead be inviting anyone who would like to share memories or thoughts to do so at a special time during the service.
