Bill Smith

January 15, 1965 — April 23, 2022

Evanston, WY

Bill Paul Smith age 57, passed away April 23, 2022 peacefully in his sleep.

He was born January 15, 1965 in Evanston Wyoming to David B. and Becky Smith.

Bill was a member of the class of 1983 Bonneville High School in Ogden, Utah before returning to his birth place and favorite community of Evanston, Wyoming.

Bill married Kelly Monroe Smith Green in 1986, they later divorced but remained close friends. Together they had two sons, Jeremy and David.  Bill was proud of his sons and loved them very much. He had a daughter by love Elizabeth Walker, and a granddaughter by love, Alexis, that brought him much joy in his later years.

Bill followed in his dad’s family business into the radio world as a program director, on air personality and station manager at KEVA.

Bill loved camping, NASCAR and survived a painful existence as a Minnesota Vikings fan for his entire life. His love for his home state was displayed in his blind loyalty to the U of WY Cowboys, and the Border War game with CSU was, to him, the only “bowl game” that mattered. He had a great and inappropriate sense of humor that was always loved by his friends and family, often replying “too soon” before making a joke.

He was proceeded in death by his dad, David B. Smith, grandparents Bill and Maxine Smith, favorite aunts Starr Smith Howard and Pam Bowersox Preciado.

He is survived by his mom, Becky Bowersox Smith, sons David and Jeremy, brother B.David Smith, sister Jennifer Smith Arthurs, and many nieces and nephews that all loved him and will greatly miss him.

As per Bill’s wishes, there will be a small outdoor celebration of his life later this year at his favorite camping site in the Uintas.
