Bettylou Bronson

October 7, 1946 — May 21, 2021

Evanston, WY

BettyLou (Powers) Bronson,74, passed away peacefully at her home in Evanston on May 21. She was born to Bert and Betty (Fackrell) Powers in Rock Springs WY on October 7, 1946. BettyLou grew up on the family ranch in Lyman with an older sister and two younger brothers. Losing both her parents at an early age, she helped to raise her younger brothers. Waiting tables and helping at her grandma’s bar in Lyman, she developed her skills and talent as bartender/waitress. She married Richard (Dick) Anson and to this union they had three children; Tony, Monica and Vicki. She later divorced and married Jake Bronson, they enjoyed adventures in Arizona and Idaho. Eventually she returned to Fort Bridger and then moved to Evanston where she reacquainted with friends and acquired many new ones.

Mom never met a stranger and made friends wherever she was. People drove many miles to have one of her "Famous Bloody Mary's”. She enjoyed cooking for a crowd, Veteran's Day, ham and beans always drew her favorite group. She knew how you liked your eggs cooked and how you liked your whiskey. She loved shooting darts and played an admirable pool game. She enjoyed planting flowers and had an enviable green thumb. She liked betting on the horses: "Always bet greys on the rainy day." She was set in her way and wouldn't mind telling you that. She could be as ornery as they come but she could also be a bundle of fun.

BettyLou is preceded in death by her parents, sister, LaDene Meeks, brother, Rhett Powers, daughter, Monica (Anson) Streeter.

She is survived by her brother, Kelly (Martha) Powers, brother in-law, Blaine Meeks, son, Tony (Angie) Anson, daughter, Vicki (Jeff Hortin) Wallace, 5 grandchildren, Hannah (Spencer) Gustafson, Kelsie Anson, Ben (Lindsey)Anson, Alexis Wallace and Sarah Streeter and 1 great grandchild Ingrid Pearlynn Gustafson.

As per her request, no formal service is planned.  Cremation has taken place under the direction of Crandall Funeral Home.

Come join the family and friends with a plate of food, a beer and shot or two on Sunday May 30, 2021 at 1pm at the ranch, 954 County Road 243 Lyman WY.
