Thomas Merle Lester
July 4, 1955 – Aug. 20, 2011
Tom was born July 4, 1955 in Evanston to Beryl and Allen Lester.
He grew up in Evanston and graduated from Evanston High School in 1973. At that time he moved to Oklahoma to work in the oil field with his older brother Evan “Tiny”. The oilfield brought him back to Evanston in 1978. When his rig left, he stayed. He then worked as a cabinet maker, carpenter, and roofer.
In 1981, he met the one and only love of his life, Eva Marne’ Bolander. They were married June 12, 1982 in Riverton, Utah and made their home in Evanston.
He then went to work at the Wyoming State Hospital where he stayed for 25 years. At the time of his disability retirement he was the manager of the Transportation Security Department.
He had a great passion for the outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, shed horn hunting, rock hunting and watching wildlife. Marne’ was always by his side. She shared his love for the great outdoors.
He leaves behind his wife Marne’; mother Beryl Lester of Evanston; sister, Deb Lester of Evanston; nieces – Denise Padilla of Evanston and Samantha Lester of Las Vegas, NV; Nephew, Raymond Lester of Evansotn, 2 great nephews, Austin Padilla of Evanston, Ryker Padilla of Evanston and 2 uncles, Mike Toone of Fernley, NV; and Lamar Lester of Hilliard, Wy
He was preceded in death by his father, Allen Lester; brothers: Evan Lester and Joseph Lester; Sister Roseanne Lester; Nephew Paul Padilla, Great Nephews, Jamie Padilla, Tyler Padilla; all of his grandparents, numerous aunts uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the LDS ward chapel on third and Sage Street under the direction of Crandall funeral home. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Evanston City Cemetery. A luncheon for family and friends will follow.
