Ruth Carol Carlile Weller

Ruth Carol Weller passed away in her home 6 hours shy of her 89th birthday on December 23, 2023, surrounded by love from the family she devoted her life to. 

She was born to Fred and Sarah Carlile in Heber City, Utah, on December 24, 1934. An older sister (Bernice) and four older brothers (Ralph, Glen, Tom, and Don) welcomed her into this world. She was raised in Heber City and graduated from Wasatch High School. 

In 1956, Carol married Jared Moroni Weller in the Salt Lake City temple. She lived in the home they built together in Marion, Utah, for the remainder of her life. In 1962, Jared and Carol started Weller Repair, now known as Weller Recreation. Although she worked for their family-owned business for 33 years, her primary focus and joy was her family. She had 14 children: Milton Weller (deceased 1971), Phillip Weller (deceased 1958), Joan (David) Louder, Paul (Lisa) Weller, Richard (JoAnne) Weller, Linda (Robert) Timothy, Rachel (Blake) Marchant, Margaret (Bryan) Winward, Samuel Weller (deceased 1970), Stillborn Boy Weller (deceased 1971), Stillborn Boy Weller (deceased 1972), Matthew (Lisa) Weller, Michael (JoHanna) Weller, and Stephanie (Bronson) Smart. 

She knew each of her 50 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren by name and will be remembered for her sweet treats, like M&Ms, Tootsie Pop suckers, and saltwater taffy accompanied with a much-loved hug from Grandma. She left a legacy of loving and serving all around her and being able to weather any storm with the Savior by her side. She will be missed, and her influence will always be felt.

A viewing will begin at 9:00 am on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at the Rhodes Valley Ward church building located at 3038 North State Road 32, Marion, Utah. The funeral service will follow at 11:00. Burial will take place at the Marion Cemetery. 

Carol felt strongly about missionary work for the Church of Jesus of Christ of Latter-day Saints and contributed to 24 of her grandchildren’s missions. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the mission fund at the churchofjesuschrist.org.
