Roy Beck

September 13, 1938 — September 7, 2012

Roy C Beck died peacefully in his sleep at his home on September 7, 2012.  Roy was born September 13, 1938 in Central Pennsylvania.  He was the first son born to Clarence and Ruth Beck.  He was raised in Pennsylvania on a family dairy farm where he learned his great work ethics.  He and his younger brother Allen (Charlene) graduated from high school in Pennsylvania.  He was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force in October, 1966.
In 1958 Roy married Joan Deljanovan.  They were married for 23 years and of that marriage they had two sons.  Brian Roy Beck (Lori) born July 24, 1962.  Brian and Lori have two daughters; Alisha and Jessica.  Jessica had just given birth to Roy’s great grand daughter that came into the world as he was leaving.  -  Darrell Kevin Beck was born on June 20, 1964.  Darrell was his hunting buddy.
In 1966, Roy and Joan packed up their family and moved to Jackson, Wyoming.  Roy worked for Lower Valley Power for many years and also for WYDOT plowing snow.  He also helped his family run big game hunting camps in the fall, ran a handyman business and also worked winters in Louisiana and guided white water trips on the Snake River in the summer.
Roy later married Heather Beck and they had a daughter Chelsie, born in Jackson on January 6, 1986.  They later divorced.  Chelsie lives in St. Paul, Minnisota where she attends college.
In 1993 he met and married Nancy Beck.  He acquired two more step kids; Kelly Berrier & Kristie (Jim) Erickson and two more grand kids; Camden & Bergen that he loved.  They moved to Bridger Valley and settled into a very busy life that Roy enjoyed.  He had a great routine, going to get coffee, visiting with friends, spending time with his mother, Ruth Beck, and going to Senior Citizens for lunch.  Everyone knew him by his big smile and friendly wave.  He loved his coffee buddies.  Roy was a friend to all and helped where he could.  He will be greatly missed by so many friends and his family.
If we could all learn a lesson from Roy’s passing, it would be to not take life so seriously, be a good friend to all, and son’t leave any unfinished business with anyone.  This is how he lived and died.  Happy trails.
