Paul Gene Kelley, age 71, of Evanston, passed away March 22, 2024, with his wife by his side.
Paul was born June 19, 1952, in Boone, Iowa to Dell Melvin and Esther (King) Kelley. Paul was a passionate U.S. Marine, Soldier, Guardsman, and Sailor. He was never happier and never felt more fulfilled than when he was serving his Country in both the Military and as a Civilian employee.
He earned his private pilot’s license in the late 1980’s which was the culmination of a dream that started in the Marines as he worked in aviation. Paul served two six-month tours in Iraq and a shorter visit to Afghanistan while working for the Federal Government as an Auditor.
Paul earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of Central Oklahoma. He married Pamela Smeding on January 16, 1998, in the Ogden, Utah LDS Temple.
Paul was always connected with the Marines and the American Legion and actively supported them. He was a life member of the University of Central Oklahoma Alumni Organization – his Alma Mater. He was an active and supportive member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since his conversion 1996.
Paul is survived by his wife Pamela and his sons, Alan and Scott Kelley.  He is preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation for Paul will be held Wednesday, March 27, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the 1st Ward Chapel, 201 Sage Street in Evanston.  Graveside service with Military Honors will follow at 1:00 pm at Lindquist Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 S. Washington Blvd, in Ogden.
