Patricia R Smith

Patricia R. Smith 87, passed away October 17, 2023 at Fairfield Assisted Living in Layton, UT, where she had been a resident for two years.  

Mrs. Smith was born in Evanston, Wyoming on August 2, 1936 to Roy Earl and Verla May Robinson.  She attended schools in Evanston, Wyoming  and was a graduate of Evanston High School and attended the University of Wyoming.

She married Gerald J. Palmer in 1956 and they started a family having 3 children.  She moved to Kemmerer Wyoming in 1965 where she and her husband owned and operated Palmer Drug Store.  They later divorced.

She married Merle R. Smith in 1996 in the Ogden Temple and they resided together in Morgan Utah until her beloved husband passed away in July 17, 2017. She was a faithful member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She and Merle served 2 missions and she served many other callings for the church in her lifetime.

She loved spending time with family and friends.  She was an avid reader, loved doing needle work, and was an amazing cook who loved nothing more than cooking for her family- especially sweet treats. She will be remembered as someone who blessed everybody she touched in life. 

She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother and Great-grandmother.  Her true calling here on earth was her service to all. She served her ward members, neighbors and family without hesitation and with a heartfelt smile.

Survivors include: Daughter Heather Palmer of Clinton, UT Son, Dave Palmer and wife Lori of Green River, WY, Son, Steve Palmer and wife Dru from Lander, WY Bonus son Justin Smith and wife Michele of South Ogden, UT.  Grandchildren Ashton Palmer of Roy,UT,  Cooper Palmer and wife Kylar of Rock Springs, WY Alex Palmer of Bozeman MT, Cody Chipperfield  and wife Kayla of Casper WY, Anna Kimball of Rock Springs WY and Bonus Grandchildren Brennan (Beth) Smith of Millcreek, UT. Cameron Smith of South Ogden, UT,  Caden (Lynzee) Smith of Marriott-Slaterville, UT Mykelle Smith of South Ogden, Ut, Josh (Breanna) Cypers of Stockton, UT, Jared (Torrie) Cypers of Roy, UT, and Justin (Danielle) Cypers of Roy, UT. She was also blessed with 10 Great Grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her husband Merle, parents,  sisters Shirley Bradley and Lois Osterling,  and brother Dick Robinson.

Funeral services will be held Saturday October 21, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in the Rock Church, 10 W. Young Street, Morgan Utah with a viewing prior to the services from 11:00 – 12:30. Interment will be in the South Morgan Cemetery.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt love to the caretakers of the Memory Care Unit at Fairfield Assisted Living. Their love and tenderness to our Mom never went unnoticed.
