Megan D. Cummings

Megan Denise Bybee Cummings was born on October 3, 1983 in Ogden, Utah to Clyde and
Charlotte Bybee. On October 20, 2023, she gracefully left this earth on a day filled with beauty,
love and sunshine. She was lovingly surrounded by family members, she has a piece of our
hearts forever.
To know Megan was to love her, she faced adversity with strength and dignity. Her brave, fierce,
fiery spirit gave strength to those who will always love and miss her. Her laughter and witty
sense of humor have provided many memorable stories that will be cherished forever.
Megan graduated from Evanston High School and married the love of her life, JP Cummings on
May 4, 2002. They have two incredible sons, Kendell and Kaden, who were the light of her life.
Megan took great pride in being a devoted wife and she was honored to support JP as he has
served on the Evanston Fire Department, giving back to the community they love. Her greatest
joy in life was watching her boys, cheering them on and supporting all of their endeavors. As a
family, they drove thousands of miles and spent countless hours making priceless memories
with their Baseball and Wrestling families. Megan lived and loved life to the fullest, enjoying the
outdoors, hunting, camping, riding horses, and any adventures involving family.
Megan worked at Evanston Regional Hospital in the Operating Room for 18 years. She was a
devoted employee and proud of her accomplishments. She met many, many close friends that
have supported her throughout her medical journey and continued to take care of her, as one of
their own, until the very end. Cleaning out her locker was the most challenging day. She loved
her work and found it meaningful, it gave her purpose and she continued working as long as she
could. However, she was very content, finding peace and happiness while gardening, attending
to their horses, chickens, and beautiful home, it was her little piece of heaven.
Megan is survived by her loving husband, JP Cummings and their sons Kendell and Kaden. Her
devoted parents, Clyde and Charlotte Bybee, brothers, sisters, nephews and nieces. Valerie
(Brandon) Rachel and Cassidy Taro, Becky, Kayla, and Austin Kerry, Bev (Pat) Kaleb and Kalli
Fackrell, Kevin (Penny) Karter, Payton, Ella, Eva, Charlie, and Gabby Bybee, and Wes
(Stefanie) Bybee. In-laws Jim and Linda Cummings, Sherry, Dwain and Phillip Streeter.
Numerous friends that she considered family and last but not least her fur babies that never left
her side, Frankie and Dottie.
