Lukas Brian Simmons passed away February 10, 2021, in Texhoma Oklahoma, at the age of 22. Though he left this world far too soon, he left it a better place.
Lukas was an amazing son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend to many. He welcomed everyone he met with open arms and his one-of-a kind smile. Lukas was a hard-working young man. He was always willing and ready to help, no matter who or what was asked of him.
Lukas loved 4-H. He grew up showing lambs, pigs, goats, mini horses, a catch-a-calf heifer, ducks, and even cats and a fish. He competed in many 4-H contests, earning national trips across the country. Lukas loved livestock judging. He attended Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington, WY, on a livestock judging scholarship. Lukas went on to attend Oklahoma Panhandle State University in Goodwell, Oklahoma, where he would have been on the judging team next year. He was excited to begin judging jackpot shows and county fairs.
One of Lukas’s goals was to open a butcher shop. Included in these plans was the many ways he would support youth in the livestock industry and programs. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at 1st Bank in Evanston to the Lukas Simmons Donation account. Donations will be used in part to make these goals a reality by sponsoring buckles and awards and by purchasing animals at jr. livestock auctions.
The celebration of Lukas’s life will be held Saturday, February 27, 2021, at the Round House located at 1500 Main Street, Evanston, WY. Visitation will begin at 12:00 with the service at 2:00 p.m. Immediately following the service will be the dedication of the grave at the Evanston Cemetery. A luncheon will then be held back at the Round House. For those wishing to stay, we will have music and dancing in his honor.
