EVANSTON, Wyo – LeRoy Henry Fiack, 87, was sent to his Heavenly Father and reunited with his wife Alma Lee on Aug. 13, 2011.
Born Jul. 23, 1924 in Sunnyside, Ut., to Philip Horace Fiack and Eva Knouf, he married Inez Wayman. They later divorced. He then married Alma Lee Bergamo-Chavez on May 6, 1963 in Price, Ut.
LeRoy enjoyed telling tales of growing up in Carbon County. He spent many summers fishing, camping, and horseback riding with his Father and brothers. He was also fond of attending dances at social halls no matter how far away, since he was fortunate enough to have a car in those days. His adventures continued while working for Union Pacific, which placed him and his family in a few outposts along the railroad in Utah and Wyoming. He eventually moved his family to Evanston, gaining employment with Evanston Regional Hospital. After retirement, he created a garden sanctuary for himself, his family, and the many birds that enjoyed the home he had built for them.
LeRoy is survived by five children: Brenda (Susan) Bateman of Evanston, Wyo; Daniel (Karen) Chavez of Sheridan, Wyo; Brandon Chavez of Denver, Colo; Robert Fiack of Evanston, Wyo; Allen Fiack of Evanston, Wyo;.
Grandchildren Bonnie (Robert) Contreres, Brandon Chavez, Kirby (Adrienne) Wilson, Kayleen Chavez, Robert Fiack, Brandon Fiack, Courtney, Tiffany Olson, Shae Kingsley, Ashten Fiack, Brooke Fiack, and Laina Bleu Chavez. Also survived by his sister-in-law Winnie R. Fiack, nephews and nieces Robert (Denise) Fiack, Timothy (Tami) Fiack, Tamara (Mike) Johnson, Delbert (Ramona) Fiack, Eugene (Sherri) Fiack, Linda Richmann, Lyman (Sue) Fiack, Rae Lynn (Gregory) Smith, daughter-in-law Kathleen Horne.
Preceded in death by his wife Alma Lee, his parents, brothers Gerald Fiack, Robert Fiack, sister Ramona Fiack-Davies, nephew Ronald Fiack.
