Gwen Pace Simpson-Saxton

Gwen Pace Simpson-Saxton, 88, passed away on February 22, 2024, in St. George, Utah. Gwen was born on May 31, 1935, in Hoytsville, Utah to John Frederick and Julia Alvira Pace Hobson.    On July 3, 1952, she married Rex J. Simpson, their marriage was later solemnized in Salt Lake City Temple on March 24, 1955.  Gwen and Rex worked together for many years on the family dairy farm. Rex passed away on May 26, 1996.  Gwen later married Dewey R. Saxton, on September 9, 2000, he preceded her in death on March 31, 2023.

Gwen was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She enjoyed sewing, camping and traveling with her family.  She was also a past member of the Oakley Civic Club.  Gwen and Dewey were honored to be the Grand Marshalls of the 2018 Oakley 4th of July Celebration parade.  Gwen spent her summers in Oakley and her winters in Beaver Dam, Arizona where she had many friends and neighbors.

Gwen is survived by her children, Kim (Lana) and Brad (Jane); step-children, Curt (Susan), Kellie (Garlan), Russell (Mary) and Penny; 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren and many extended family members, all of which she had a special love for.  She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Julia; husband Rex; husband Dewey; 3 siblings and grandson Kaycee Simpson.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, at the Marion Stake Center on Wednesday, February 28.  Viewing will be from 10:00 to 11:00 prior to services.  Interment will follow in the Marion Cemetery.
