George Alston

May 28, 1957 — April 2, 2012

George Keyser "Ky"Alston Jr. was born May 28, 1957, in Denver, Colorado.  He was known to everyone as Ky.  He left this world unexpectedly to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 2, 2012 after a 22 year walk with Him here on earth.
Ky grew up in Littleton, Colo. adn graduated from Littleton High School in 1975.  During high school, Ky worked with his dad in the family business of manufacturtin cultured marble, and learned many mechanical feats which led him to go to the University of Wyoming to pursue an engineering degree.
While at college, Ky's moved from Littleton to Frannie in 1976.  Ky began working at Elk Basin in the oil and gas field around 1980.  During the more than 24 years that he worked for Amoco / BP, Ky was inspired to learn more.  Upon transferring to Evanston, Ky worked the Painter Plant start-up and continued in operations there until joining the engineering group.
During his time at Amoco / BP, he also worked on the Peer Grievance Commitee, spent three years building a process simulator of the plant, and was instrumental in adding LNG processing at the Painter and Anschutz plants.
His passion for learning and sharing his knowledge with others grew into a career which led him to take a new job with John M. Campbell & Co. in Norman, Okla. in 2005.  Ky's job with JMC allowed him to traavel the U.S. and the world, while teaching costomized gas processing and process simulation, plant upgrades and system evaluation during process upsets.
Ky's personal interests included all things sports, espceially Pittsburgh teams, the Oklahoma City Thunder, Oklahoma State University football and NASCAR.  He also enjoyed golf, fly fishing, hunting and camping.
Ky met his wife, Lisa, on a blind date on Jan. 5, 1988.  They were married on July 19, 1988, in Powell, also accepting Lisa's 2 1/2 year old son, Jacob as part of the new family.  Over the years of making their home in Evanston, and later Oklahoma City, Ky and Lisa took in nearly 50 foster kids.
In addition to his wife, Ky is survived by his son, Jacob and granddaughters Dakota and Shaylee; daughter Lacey and grandson Tavin; his son, Judah; and adopted daughter, Hannah Warren; mother Jo Alston, of Frannie; sisters Kendy (husband John) Richards of Cowley, and Kymbre (husband Tony) Moorhead of Frannie; nieces Kabre Richards of Redmond, Wash., and Jaime Richards of Reno, Nev.; and nephews Race and Riley Moorehead of Frannie.
He was preceded in death by hir father George Alston Sr.
Services for Alston wil be held Saturday, April 14, at 4 p.m. at the Evanston Alliance Church, 235 Overthrust Rd.
