Elizabeth Clawson, of Salt Lake City and Woodland, Utah, died February 10, 2017 in Salt Lake City of causes incident to age.  She was born May 4, 1930 to Harold F. and Madelyn Stewart Silver in Salt Lake City.  At an early age she moved with the family to Denver.  She married Robert M. Clawson March 16, 1955 in the Salt Lake Temple.

With short interruptions she lived in Denver until 2005 when the Clawsons moved  to Utah.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Diana (Charles Furedy).  She is survived by her husband, children Kevin (Toi), Roxanne (Michael Davis) and Julianne (Steven Huefner), 12 grandchildren. their five spouses, and 17 great grandchildren, with one more on the way. Before and after raising her children she was a teacher in the Denver Public Schools, from which she retired in 1993.  She was an active life long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held  many callings, including Temple Worker, Ward Relief Society President and Stake Relief Society Secretary.  She was a passionate Visiting Teacher, dedicated and persistent, who activated some hesitant members and made friends of those who did not come to church.   She was a dedicated home maker, especially with her garden in Denver.  When her daughters were growing up she was a leader of Girl Scouts.

She spent every summer until recently at the family Ranch near Woodland, Utah, and lived there year-round from 2005 to 2015, enjoying the scenery, the heritage and especially riding horses.  While her health declined in the last 20-plus years, she was steadfast and brave and an inspiration to all who came in contact with her.  She was a friend to everyone, especially the devoted care givers at Highland Cove Retirement Community and Brighton Hospice.  The family is deeply grateful to them for their loving service.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the Woodland Ward, 4219 S Highway 35, Woodland Utah from 6-8 pm on February 17, 2017 as well as for one hour preceding the funeral service.  The funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, February 18, 2017 in the Woodland Ward, 4219 S Highway 35, Woodland Utah.

The family will greet Colorado relatives and friends at the Horan and McConaty Funeral Home,
11150 E Dartmouth Ave., Aurora Colorado from 6-8 p.m.on February 21, 2017.  Burial will be in the Clawson family plot, Fairmount Cemetery in Denver,Wednesday at 10 am on February 22, 2017.

Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Humanitarian Aid Fund of the LDS Church or the charity of your choice.
