Carl S. Johnston, age 63, passed away peacefully at home on April 9, 2022 with his wife Robin by his side after a courageous battle with cancer.
Carl was born in Page, AZ on December 22, 1958 to Robert H. Johnston and Beatrice Willis Bloxton Johnston. He and his twin sister Carol were the first twins born in Page, AZ. His youth was spent all over Arizona following construction jobs his dad had. He graduated in 1976 from Fredonia High School in Arizona. Carl was an ambitious hard working man and had numerous jobs from oil field work, Energy Fuels and hard rock mining for gold in Nevada and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone.
Carl married Shawna Jordan Johnston in Fredonia with her daughter Sondra and son Skip. The couple added to their family a daughter Sindi and son Shawn, they later divorced.
He relocated to Lyman, WY where he met Robin Walker and married the love of his life on December 15, 1992 with her son Lance and daughter Sommer.
He started and finished his working career at Solvay Chemicals in Green River, WY after 30 years. Carl always had a project to work on and he enjoyed fresh air and sunshine made him smile. He loved Wyoming, it was “Home” he was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, boating, fishing, camping which involved dutch oven cooking, playing horseshoes and ending with a card game. Traveling was always on the agenda, he was up for an adventure and always said, “We’re making memories.” Family was very important and meant the world to him and he meant the world to his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many.
Carl is survived by his wife Robin of Lyman, WY, children Sindi (Weston) Vetere of Kanab, UT, Shawn (Ashley) Johnston of Cedar City, UT, Sondra (Kenneth) Bistline of Kanab, UT, Skip (Jennifer) Johnston of Eagle Mountain, UT, Sommer (Jeremy) Tysver of Mountain View, WY, sister Carol Tait (Owen) Carlson of Lyman, WY, brother Bobby (Iris) Bloxton of NV, brother Ricky (Karen) Bloxton of AZ, many grandchildren, nieces and nephew.
He is preceded in death by his father Robert Johnston, mother Beatrice Johnston, brother Steve Dean Johnston, sister Donna Bloxton Petersen and Lance Walker.
Carl will be missed by all of us lucky to have known him.
