Margaret Ruth Erickson Cox, passed away at the South Lincoln Care Center in Kemmerer, Wyoming on September 6, 2018, where she resided for the last seventeen years.  While there she was loved and cared for by the nursing staff who became her friends.
She was born on January 24, 1937 in Lyman Wyoming to Grant and Clarissa Ann (Bond) Erickson. She was raised on the family ranch in Robertson, and attended school in Robertson and Mountain View .
She married  Howard Walter Cox on _June 16, 1952 in the Salt Lake Temple.   He preceded her in death on November 9, 1999.
Margaret loved her family and sacrificed her own needs, wants, and time to assure they had everything they needed.  She enjoyed camping, pack trips and any outdoor activities that included being with her family. Although she had her stroke at age 50, she was still active and was the first one ready-to-go.  Even when the years started taking their toll, Margaret was still ready for an adventure. She is locally known as the bingo queen, as evidenced by the prizes decorating her room.  Although her circumstances weren't the best, Margaret was always cheerful, happy and upbeat; and loved decorating her  room with things that were bright and colorful.
She was a member of the LDS church serving faithfully in various callings during her earlier years, and could be found  at church service each Sunday.  Keeping her temple recommend current was important to her right up to her passing.
She is survived by her children: Shauna  Ruth (Ken) Walker, of Lyman; Jesse Cox of Salem, Oregon; and Carrie Jean Byrne of Colorado.   Margaret has 11 grandchildren and many great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Howard; an infant son, Ray Dean; a son, Howard Grant  Cox; a daughter, Linda Kay Beach Woody; and a grandson, Joseph Quinton Walker.  Her parents, Grant and  Clarissa Erickson, A brother, George Keith Erickson, and three infant siblings boys also precede her in death.
Funeral service will be on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at 11 a.m. in the Lyman L.D.S. Stake Center in Urie, Wyoming.   Viewing will be on Tuesday evening from 6 to 7:30 p.m and on Wednesday one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
Interment will follow in the Evanston City Cemetery.
