Dear Crittenden Family,
My sincere condolences at the passing of your father, my friend, coach Jim Crittenden. What a legacy he left at Lehi High School! Master teacher, coach, mentor, builder of young people, friend, gentleman. I will always appreciate his positive nature and encouragement as he helped young people build their skills. I am thankful I came under his tutelage. May our Father in Heaven bless you with peace and comfort at this time, and may our Father's great "Plan of Happiness"' bless you all as you strive to live it, that it may bring you all together in the eternities.
P.S. So sorry I cannot attend the funeral, but will be thinking of you.
With love and respect, George Usher, LHS, Class of 1965...

My thoughts about my association with Jim are cherished memories. He did so much for me in my career as a football official as well as a coach and teacher. There are a lot of things that stand out to me about Jim. One of them is his complete loyalty as a friend. Another is the love he had for his family. I also remember his devotion to doing all he could to make other people better. All of us will miss him but we will never forget him.

Dear Crittenden Family,
My sincere condolences. Jim was an outstanding person and coach. He knew how to get the most out of our football team. We were undersized compared to most of the teams we played and we were able to compete and win most of our games. I am grateful for his example and his ability to get the most out of me. I learned many life skills from his coaching/teaching.
May you be blessed and comforted at this time.
With Love, Cliff Norman Lehi HS Class of 1961.

Jim was a not just a great coach, but a great role model, motivator, and friend. I recall one night at the dinner table when I quoted him and my younger sister said...."you spend more time with Coach Crittenden than you do with dad." Dad's reply was, "Bill couldn't be with a better man than Jim Crittenden!" What a tenacious and competitive man he was. I will never forget him and be forever grateful for all he did for me.

When Jim first came to Lehi, he and the other coaches use to work as paid officials for Church basketball games. Our Dad Chub was the Stake athletic director and after the games we would go and get a hamburger. We and our Dad loved him. John loved playing for JV Basketball and Football for him, he definitely had the ability to inspire his players to play way beyond their normal capacity. Dave worked for him as a mechanic at the school district, the Alpine School District buses stood out because of his maintenance policies. He was a born leader with great charisma. He was widely loved and will be greatly missed.
