Marjorie Gilmore passed away peacefully at her daughter's home in Evanston surrounded by her family. Marjorie was born January 16th, 1931 in Randolph, Utah to Isabell Jones Jackson and Elmo Jackson. Marjorie was raised on a farm where she developed a love of animals. She loved riding horses, especially her horses "Airship and Nancy". She also played the clarinet in high school. In 1948, she was crowned First Attendant for Rich County Fair, which emphasized her lifelong love of the rodeo. She married Lloyd Allen Gilmore September 14, 1952 and became the proud mother to Allen, Sherry, Betsy, and Brenda. Marjorie and Lloyd also had two other children together, which have preceded them both in death. Marjorie shared a love of cooking, sewing, crocheting and ceramics. Marjorie was a devoted member of the LDS church, where she was the ward librarian for 40 years. Marjorie retired from the Wyoming State Hospital after 22 years. Although not her only job, she also worked as a telephone operator, would type papers for different teachers, head housekeeper at Memorial Hospital and cleaned houses.
Marjorie never judged people, she truly believed that there is good in all. A true, kind and generous spirit that will be deeply missed.
Marjorie is preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Gilmore, her parents Elmo and Isabell Jackson, two children Lloyd Gilmore and Linda Gilmore, her twin brother Marvin Jackson, sister Ada Jackson, brother in-law's Fred, Junior, Gary, Bud Gilmore, sister in-law Ellen Lester, granddaughter Darlene Fry, grandson William Gilmore and great granddaughter Kennadee Bateman. She is survived by her children Allen (Betty) Gilmore of Milford, UT, Sherry (Dwain) Streeter of Evanston, WY, Betsy L Elkins of Evanston, WY and Brenda Greer of Evanston, WY. Siblings Karma Gilmore, Elmo (Judy) Jackson, Myrtle (Loren) Martin, Morgan Jackson, Belva (DeLoy) Richman, 13 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and, 2 great-great grandchildren.
