Curtis Christiansen

April 20, 1951 ~ November 12, 2019 (age 68)

Obituary

Curtis Christiansen was born to Ferd and Lois (Guild) Christiansen on April 20, 1951 in Evanston Wyoming. He passed away November 12, 2019 of natural causes.

He grew up on the Guild Ranch outside of Evanston. This gave him the opportunity to explore and gain a love for hunting. When Curtis started school, he would ride a horse from the ranch, to the one-room schoolhouse located on the Charles Guild Ranch. There he would tie-up his horse and attend school. At the end of the day he would repeat this process in reverse. He had a stick that Ferd made for him that allowed him to open gates without getting off the horse. This was a "must" as he was too small to get up on the horse without assistance. He did this through the first and second grade. By the time he reached third grade the school was closed, and he attended school in Evanston graduating from Evanston High School in 1969.

Curtis attended the University of Wyoming for one year then enlisted in the Army in 1970. He was stationed in Boston at a missile site during the Vietnam war.  He was discharged in 1973.

He married Autum Cora Oman on August 29, 1980 in Flint Michigan. They were later divorced in 1984. He married the love-of-his-life Yodi (Yolanda) Green September 16, 1989 in Rock Springs Wyoming.  They lived in Rock Springs for many years. Later they would move to Glendale Arizona. While they were living in Arizona they were sealed in the Phoenix temple. It was during their time in Arizona that Yodi passed away. Curtis then moved back to Evanston and to the ranch he loved.

Curtis was a man who was never afraid to let you know exactly what he thought whether you liked it or not! He was also a great tease and could keep a straight face the entire time, much to the chagrin of the person(s) being teased.  He loved his nephews Chris, Robert, Beau and Tel as well as his niece Tycee.  During visits he took time to become acquainted with his many great nephews and nieces.

After Yodi's death much of his passion for life seemed to vanish. He missed her greatly.  Not even returning to the ranch could make up for Yodi's absence. During this time his general health began to decline.

Curtis is survived by his parents Ferd and Lois Christiansen. His brothers: Scott (Scott), Terry (Doreen) and Kip (Julie), his nephews and their spouses and his niece.  Additionally, his 8 great nieces and nephews.
