Marlene Smith

It is with great sadness that the family of Marlene Mary Smith announces her passing on December 9, 2022 at the age of 85.

Marlene was born to Arthur and Alma Vey on August 25, 1937 in Port Washington, WI. She was part of a big family and was raised with 14 siblings.

Later Marlene met and married Forrest Smith and together had three children. After their divorce Marlene lived out her life single and independently, having worked at the Dunmar Inn, the Wyoming State Hospital and the Uinta Senior Center.

Marlene had the gift of gab and would talk with anyone that came close to her. Marlene loved to crochet to pass the time and was an avid collector of salt and pepper shakers and Coca Cola memorabilia, but her greatest joy in life was always her children.

Marlene is survived by her children, Gene (Carlene) Vey, Mark (Dana) Smith and her daughter Janet Smith; brother Victor (Butch); and three sisters, Rose, Lucie and Mary along with many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Alma Vey, her brothers and sisters Betty, John, Dorothy, Arthur Jr., Rita, Joe, Jim, Terry, Marcy and Christine.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Marlene will be fondly remembered and forever missed.
